EllaRose Chary is an award-winning New York based writer and dramaturg. She is a member of the 2014 Uncharted Residency at Ars Nova, a Finalist for the 2013 New York Foundation for the Arts Playwriting/Screenwriting Fellowship, and a winner of the Weston Award for Musical Theatre. Her musical MARRYING ME (commissioned by Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre/penangpac) recently won the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards Audience Choice Award. Her other projects include SIDNEY D. CROSIER: An Unfinished Portrait (commissioned by Harrison County Arts/Hayswood Theatre), LEFT TO OUR OWN DEVICES (NAMT Jukebox, Ronald M. Ruble New Play Festival Finalist, upcoming Pallas Theatre), THE DAGUERREOTYPE (Prospect Theater) and ENDLESS SUMMER (NYFA Estuary). EllaRose has also contributed material to BE THE DEATH OF ME and OCCUPY YOUR MIND (The Civilians), WE ARE THEATRE! (Cherry Lane Theatre), and THE BIRDS AND THE BEES: UNABRIDGED (University Settlement). Her work has been featured nationally and internationally, including at Lincoln Center, Cherry Lane, NYMF, Joe's Pub, Goodspeed Opera House, Barrington Stage Company, ACT New Voices, and the Slide Cabaret Festival in Sydney, Australia. She is a founding member of Bastard Playground, currently in residence at the Drama League and a member of The Tank’s TV Writing Program. MARK BEAU DESILVA - BOOK
Mark Beau de Silva is the Director in Residence of The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, and has been working in the arts since 2001, first as a stage manager, then writer and director with The Actors Studio. He has written several plays and musicals over the years including STORIES FOR AMAH, OH MY GOD, BIG HEAD POTATO HEAD and most recently MARRYING ME. He has won several awards including BEST DIRECTOR (Short and Sweet 2011), BEST ACTOR, BEST ACTRESS and BEST SCRIPT(ADA Theatre Awards 2010), AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD(Cameronian Arts Awards 2013 for the musical MARRYING ME).
ONN SAN - MUSIC
Onn San is an award-winning composer, arranger & music director who graduated with an MFA in musical theater writing at the New York University, Tisch School of The Arts, Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. He is the first Malaysian composer to graduate and received the Dean's Fellowship Award from the program. Nominated 5 times for the Kakiseni's Boh Cameronian Arts Awards (Malaysia's most prestigious arts awards) and won 3 including “Best Original Music” (Everworld, 2013), “Best Musical Director” (Everworld, 2013) and "Audience Choice Award (Marrying Me, 2014)
His musical theatre writing credits include: MARRYING ME (klpac & penangpac), MIMPI ARTILLA (MyPAA, Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Malaysia), EVERWORLD (SIBKL presents, 2012); THE SECRET LIFE OF NORA (Enfiniti Vision Media presents, 2011); EAU BLANCHE! Among his film works include: SUATU MALAM KUBUR BERASAP 2 (2014), THE HARVESTER (2013) & JARUM HALUS (2008) Onn San has also worked on national and international TV commercials for brands such as Maxis, Hotlink, Dettol, KFC, Carlsberg, Strepsils, Fernleaf, Celcom and many more.
